The Royal Mint Double Sovereign 1694 -1994 Tercentenary of the Bank of England is a limited edition of only 3,500 gold coins.

 

 

Obverse
The Third Portrait
The obverse (head side) is the third major portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ralph David Maklouf, FRSA. It came into use in 1985 and continued until 1997 inclusive, a total of thirteen years.

 

Reverse
Banks original Corporate Seal, with Crown and Cyphers of William III and Mary II. Design Leslie Durbin.

Finest known example graded by CGS Variety 07

Struck in 22 carat gold, weighs 15.98 grams and measures 28.40mm in diameter - over an inch!
